As the sun hid behind gray clouds and created a lovely shade, as an amazingly refreshing breeze and smell of wet earth enlivened the surroundings, it suddenly made me realize how much I had missed out on! It has been a month since the monsoons set in, but stuck in daily schedules, I had been ignoring this beauty around me. Suddenly this beauty overwhelmed me and I needed to feast my eyes on it, relax and unwind in this amazing weather! Have you guys been feeling the same?

This awesome weather brings back some great memories. My buddies and I would always meet up on weekends at some of the coolest cafes and pubs! We would sit with Foster’s and catch up on stuff… Bet you do the same! But, this time we wanted to plan a cool weekend getaway to experience this lovely weather and check out some cool places!!

I have put together some places you could check out for your weekend getaway!

SHIMOGA (Jog Falls) Karnataka: India’s tallest waterfall is best seen in the monsoon. Fog and rains play with the waterfall view, making it disappear and re-appear every few minutes. The waterfall is reduced to a trickle for most of the year, but if there are some good rains, they return to their glorious form in the monsoons.

LONAVLA: If you want to learn the best way to pamper your eyes and calm your mind, then it has to be Lonavla! With lush green expanses, it’s one of the most exciting and soothing spots for a weekend holiday. It is known for its picnic spots, ideal for friends to chillax. The best part is to watch the sunlight filter through the sun-window and cast patterned shadows on passersby.

KHANDALA: Best known for its frothy, milky, silver waterfalls set amidst the lush green mountains, it is a perfect place to relax and unwind. Khandala has retained the charm of a small-town friendliness which is a good break from the hustle-bustle of Mumbai.

NANDI: Nandi hills is a short 50km drive away from Bangalore. Witness the magnificently foggy mornings in winters and the rainy season. This place is indeed foggy, cool and beautiful. Though I didn’t have the fortune of seeing those foggy hills, I did get to see billowous clouds above and below me, magically segregated by a line of blue sky!

Here are some other places you can check out. Nisargadhama, Mahabalipuram, Adishakti, Velaghar, Amboli, Mandu, Meenal Falls, Chambal… let’s make most of this amazing weather and experience the Art of Chilling!!

After spending a busy hectic week working, one looks forward to chilling out during the weekends. Usually we plan a short trip of a day or two, so we can escape city noise and routine. Or we meet up with friends and family at a cafe or try some good food at a new restaurant. We always try new places and new ways to enjoy!!

Why not try something new this weekend, like maybe chilling with oneself could be a good thing to do!! Going to a spa is a great way to relax and rejuvenate with treatments. A good spa treatment helps one to unwind, completely destresses and gives a refreshed feeling.

The Mudd spa is my personal favorite; located on Bandstand, it faces the sea which is a relaxing sight by itself. I took the exfoliation oil scrub spa that promises to relax and take your mind off all stress!! It did for me, a nice long 60 min spa! They also have these outdoor custom spa treatments that is worth a try.. The overall ambiance is totally made for you to take a quick escape! I also took the sauna and steam package wherein you can relax after a good massage and chill with your friends. This is a whole day of relaxation and its the best thing to do on a Sunday, nothing like it.. You’ll feel all fresh for the next week.. Later I met my friends at the cafe to catch up for the rest of the evening! This is truly one of the best Art of Chilling experiences!!

You could chill out at some of these spas; Arom Thai foot spa, Myrah spa and The Quan spa in Mumbai, Jiva Spa and The Spa at the Leela palace – Bangalore, Le Dupleix and the Wahanda spa in Pondicherryare are some of the most chilled out spas. It’s indeed a relaxing time.. You guys should try it. Do you guys know of any other cool spas??

 The weekend’s coming up, I soo needed this break! Need to unwind from the weekly grindings.. I’m sure all of you need the same! So this weekend, thought of doing something different for a change.

Thought of crashing at a friend’s place, it’s cool you know, have the whole house to ourselves, old friends catching up, each one brings one item…. Like college days!! So there’s beer, chips, flat LCD screen TV and one of my buddies got his portable mini barbecue grille! That was awesome! Perfect combo for food n sports lovers!!

So while we chill on our beer and yummy hot barbecue, in case you guys don’t have a ‘barbecue grill’ at home and the perfect ambience to relish it with Foster’s!, here are some must check outs… for you to have a relaxing weekend!

Barbeque Nation: The king of all Barbecue Joints across the country, this is a place you must visit wherever you are. They are out to reach all of you foodies in most cities like Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Gurgaon and many more. You can get all new prefix menus and what’s more, they have a ‘Live Grill’ at your table. You choose to grill the dishes the way you want.

Mostly Grilled (The Orchid): Mostly grilled, otherwise chilled. This place needs no special ambience for its best ambience is the fact that it’s an open air fine dining restaurant. On the rooftop of ‘The Orchid Hotel’ Mumbai, it has an idyllic setting and one of the best choices of international cuisines.

I mean, these are the places to enjoy Foster’s the most, the roof top ambience, with cool breeze, the light afternoon sun! It is the perfect way to relax and unwind, especially on a Sunday.

And you must agree with me, Foster’s and barbecue is the best combo meal, it’s complete… hot mothering prawn barbecue with chilled Foster’s… what more could you ask for!! The rest depends on the location you choose to enjoy this, my ideal location is by the pool side, it’s calm and soothing!!

But some of my friends love it by the roof top, oh, how could I forget the best way to experience the art of chilling is having grilled barbecue and Foster’s by the beach… that’s one of the ideal places to enjoy Foster’s. I must say it’s the complete “chilling experience”
